Gogana streptoperoides sp. n.

Gogana streptoperoides (holotype)

13mm. The forewing facies and general coloration is similar to that of Streptoperas Hampson species, particularly S. crenelata Swinhoe

However, the forewing is less falcate, uniformly paler yellowish fawn, pinkish distal to the postmedial that consists of two brown lines, the exterior one fading posteriorly, the interior one fading anteriorly. The hindwing coloration is similar, but with the scale patch typical of the genus and fasciation only over the dorsal half. The distal margins of the wings are darkened. The male abdomen lacks coremata. The saccus is short. The gnathus is apically expanded into a rhomboidal shape, with rounded angles, a definitive characteristic not seen in any other Bornean congener.

Holotype . BRUNEI: 300m, Ulu Temburong, rainforest, (H.S. B[arlow]) Oct 1978, BM drepanid slide 2121.

Geographical range. Borneo.

Habitat preference. The only specimen is from lowland forest.
