Diagnosis. Only the holotype male is known from Borneo. The colour is similar to
that of turbinifera but the brownish suffusion is richer, and stronger in
the centre of the medial zone of the forewing.
Geographical range. Borneo, ?Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference. The type locality is at about 1000m in the Poeh Mts
in Sarawak.
Biology. Larvae that may be referable to this species (adult not dissected) have
been reared from Calamus manan in Peninsular Malaysia by H. Steiner. One
is illustrated above. It is typical of the kerara group, but the
black lines of the inner pair on the head are adjacent, and those of the outer
pair well separate, curved round the side of the head.
