Oreta ashleyi sp. n.
11mm. The only specimen is a dull reddish pink as in the uniform morphs
of 0. bicolor and 0. perobliquilinea. The fasciation of the
forewing is very weak, but intermediate in position between that of the other
two species. The falcation of the forewing is only slight as in
perobliquilinea. The male genitalia have socii as in perobliquilinea but
these are longer, the uncus shorter. The valves are simple, slightly upcurved,
with a subapical thorn on the dorsal margin. The aedeagus has a laterally
directed spine at the apex. The eighth sternite is similar to that of perobliquilinea
but narrower over the anterior part and with longer, more symmetrical and
divergent spines at each end of an arcuate posterior margin.
