rubrifusa Warren
Eumelea rubrifusa Warren, 1896, Novit. zool., 3: 358.
Eumelea rubrifusa multiplagiata Prout,
1921, Gross-Schmett. Erde, 12: 31.
Diagnosis. See Eumelea ludovicata Guenée.
Taxonomic notes. The unique holotype of E. lipara West (Luzon) has male genitalia
as in rubrifusa. It could represent a uniform brown race or aberration of
rubrifusa. A similar bifid uncus is seen in E. isozyges Prout (Mindoro)
but this has strong, narrow socii and longer slightly expanding arms to the
cross.
Geographical range. Borneo, Philippines; Sulawesi (ssp. multiplagiata Prout).
Habitat preference. All material is from montane localities, Bukit Retak
and Bukit Pagon in Brunei, and G. Kinabalu. The Brunei specimens are from
1618-1680m, in upper montane forest. Those from Kinabalu lack altitude data.
