Diagnosis. This is the largest Bornean species of this facies type, showing
sexual dimorphism with the female brown banding being more rufous and irregular
than that of the male. It is distinguished particularly by extensive green on
the thorax and dorsal part of the abdomen and by the subtornal, peninsula-like
or rounded exterior to the green area of the hindwing; in the male this has a
diffuse margin unconstrained by a paler lining.
Geographical range. Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference. Only known from G. Kinabalu, the species occurs infrequently
between 1000m and 1930m. It appears to be the only strictly montane Agathia in
Borneo.
