Diagnosis. The clear green basal area, almost circular, of the hindwing is of
distinctive shape within the genus. The black and white suffusion fills the
hindwing marginal zone but is broadly costal on the forewing apart from a small
tornal patch. The hindwing below has a diffuse submarginal black band.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Bali.
Habitat preference. The three specimens taken in recent surveys are from a wide range
of biotopes: coastal forest at Seria in Brunei; upper montane forest at 1618m on
Bukit Retak, Brunei and 1200m on the limestone G. Api, Sarawak.
