Taxonomic notes. E. rufilunata Warren is a closely related, possibly conspecific
taxon from New Guinea and the Bismarck Is. E. storthophora Prout is
sympatric in Bali and possibly Peninsular Malaysia (FRIM collection) with nelearia.
It is distinguished by smaller size and stronger, more dentate fasciae: the
male genitalia are indistinguishable.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya to Sundaland; Sulawesi, Bacan;
Queensland (ssp. oxycyma).
Habitat preference. All recent material seen was taken during the Mulu
survey at 250m and 900m on the limestone G. Api and in adjacent localities in
alluvial forest just west of the Melinau Gorge, a total of five specimens. Older
material is from lowland localities.
