Diagnosis. See Pingasa rubicunda Warren.
Taxonomic note. In Sulawesi there flies a race with slightly different distal
projections of the male genitalia, illustrated by Holloway & Sommerer.
Geographical range. Sumatra, Borneo; Sulawesi.
Habitat preference. The species is rare in upper montane forest (1200-1790m).
