Allothosea montana sp. n.
11-12mm, 14mm.
The species is larger than lola with a darker purplish brown, more
speckled forewing. The pale marginal bands are narrower anteriorly, broadening
out posteriorly. The male genitalia have a more curved costa to the valve. The
aedeagus has a very large apical cornutus, a group of six or so moderate ones
centrally in the aedeagus, and a long, narrow band of short spines between this
group and the apex.

Taxonomic note. A specimen from lowland Brunei (60m, Ulu Belait, slide 864) has a more
numerous array of longer spines centrally in the aedeagus (Fig. 219, 220)
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. All specimens have been taken in upper montane forest
except the specimen mentioned as different in the taxonomic note above.
