Perixera
javensis Warren stat. rev.
Conchocometa javensis Warren,
1897, Novit. zool., 4: 216.
Diagnosis. See Perixera
decretarioides sp. n.
Taxonomic notes. This species is genitalically distinct from decretaria
Walker and sympatric with it, hence must be taken out of synonymy with it. P.
pallida Moore stat. rev. & comb. n. (Sri Lanka) also has male
genitalia strikingly different from those of decretaria. P. irregularis Warren
from New Guinea has male genitalia with features as in this group: it is the
type species of Plocucha Warren. The taxon Anisodes contractata Walker
(Sarawak) resembles javensis but is currently regarded as a synonym of
the mainland Asian P. obrinaria Guenée. The latter is not otherwise
known from Borneo. The type of contractata lacks an abdomen, hence its
status is unclear.
Geographical range. Java, Borneo, Singapore, Bali, Sumbawa.
Habitat preference. Three Bornean specimens have been examined, all from
Sarawak: from Kuching in the lowlands; from 300m (lower montane forest) on
the limestone G. Api; from G. Murud, with no altitude recorded.
