Anisodes denticulata Hampson;

Diagnosis. In facies the species resembles P. ochraria and allies, but the
forewing costa and antennal shaft are concolorous with the wings rather than
darker, brownish. The third segment of the labial palp is equal in length to the
second rather than shorter. The hindwing medial is more diffuse, elongated.
Taxonomic notes. Holloway (1979) noted a group of closely related species that included denticulata,
P. porphyropis Meyrick comb. rev. (Queensland). P. dalmatensis Holloway
comb. n. (New Caledonia) and P. microsticta Turner comb. n. (Lord Howe
I.) with a characteristic angled saccular process to the valve, descending
processes to the uncus, and coremata between the genitalia and the eighth
segment. The hind-femur is shortened, tufted, and the tibia lacks spurs.
Geographical range. N.E. Himalaya, Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi, Seram, New
Guinea.
Habitat preference. Bornean material seen is all from G. Kinabalu, with
altitudes of 1620m and 1660m recorded.
