11-13mm. Distinction from other Bornean species is made under P.
confiniscripta. The hindwing discal circle is twice as large
as in any other subspecies, resembling that of P. insitiva Prout
comb. n. (S. India), possibly another race of punctata (though the
holotype male has not been located, the remaining specimens being female). The
punctate black markings of the wings, particularly those on vein M2 postmedially
and along the margins, are much more emphatic than in the other taxa. In the
male genitalia the processes of the valve are more slender than in typical punctata
and turn down well before the valve apex (longer than in punctata) rather
than beyond it.

Taxonomic notes. There are no coremata in the male abdomen, and the genitalia are
unusual. Though the uncus is vestigial, the valve has ornamentation atypical of Perixera.
There are two downturned processes, a setose one from the costa and a more
sclerotised one without setae arising from the centre of the valve lamina. Hong
Kong males have hindwing discal spots and male genitalia as in Bornean ones.
Geographical range. Queensland, New Guinea; Sulawesi, Mindanao; Borneo,
Hong Kong.
Habitat preference. All material has been taken on or near limestone,
mostly in lower montane forest but a few specimens also in lowland dipterocarp
forest.
