Diagnosis. The wings are a dark, pale brownish yellow, finely fasciated with dark
brown. On the forewing there is more general brownish suffusion just distal to
the discal spot and in the marginal zone.
Taxonomic notes. The species is closely related to S. craspedozona Prout comb. n.
(Bali, Luzon, Seram) as discussed by Holloway (1976). A male from Seram has
broader valves and a narrow aedeagus with only one rather than two cornuti in
the vesica. The female genitalia are much more similar (Bali specimen compared).
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. All records are from G. Kinabalu where the species is
frequent from 1930m to 2600m, but also occurs down to 1620m.
