Collix
stenoplia Prout
Collix stenoplia Prout, 1929, Novit. zool., 35: 67.
Collix stenoplia Prout; Holloway, 1976: 66.
Diagnosis. This and the next two species are similar in size and general
appearance, and identification is best confirmed by dissection of the genitalia.
This species is slightly greyer, with the strongest development of submarginal
white spots. The hindwing discal spot is whitish. On the underside the
fasciation is weak, but the postmedials are more or less entire and more
strongly developed than the submarginals.
Taxonomic notes. The structure of the valve in the male genitalia indicates a
relationship with the Himalayan C. stellata Warrren.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. This is a rare montane species, known only from G.
Kinabalu (1760m), and the limestone G. Api in Sarawak (900m, 1200m).
