Eois
versata Walker
Hyria (?) versata Walker, 1861, List Specimens lepid. Insects
Colln Br. Mus., 22: 667.
Diagnosis. This and the remainder of the species have the hindwing margin with a
slight angle centrally. The patterning of the wings is more diffuse, usually
more uniform and darker than in preceding ones. The fasciae in versata are
broad, reddish, leading to a rather chequered appearance on the hindwing. The
forewing has an irregular band of the yellow ground colour medially. The
antennae are filiform rather than bipectinate, and the female gentialia are
typical of Bardanes.
Geographical
range. Borneo,
Mentawi Is.
Habitat
preference. The
species is rare, a single female having been taken during recent surveys at 900m
(lower montane forest) on the limestone G. Api.
