Diagnosis. The species resembles flavipictaria in size and general
colouration, but is more extensively suffused with red, especially distal to the
postmedials where yellow ground colour is virtually absent.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. All records are from montane forest, those in Borneo
over 1500-1930m on G. Kinabalu and at 1618m on Bukit Retak in Brunei. Two
specimens in colln Herbulot are from 1200m on G. Kinabalu (Kundasang) and 1400m
in the Crocker Range 26km north of Keningau.
