Diagnosis. This is the largest Bornean species and shows strong sexual dimorphism,
the females being shaded dark grey where the males are reddish brown. The two
oblique pale bars subapically in the forewing costa are whitish.
Taxonomic notes. A. plumbipicta West comb. n. from the mountains of Luzon,
Philippines, has similar facies, but the grey costal and marginal zone of the
forewing is more interrupted by yellow and generally broader. The fasciae are
somewhat less sinuous.
Geographical range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia (FRIM colln).
Habitat preference. The species is only known from G. Kinabalu, where it
occurs infrequently from 1930m to 2600m.
