Diagnosis. This is a small, fawn-coloured species, readily distinguished by the
somewhat arcuate pinkish grey band around the tornus distal to the forewing
postmedial. This is present also on the hindwing but fainter. Some specimens of marcidaria
have a slight band but it is less arcuate and usually entire.
Geographical range. Indian Subregion, Hainan, Hong Kong, Borneo, Sumatra,
Java, Adonara, Timor, Philippines.
Habitat preference. A single specimen was taken in a cocoa plantation at
Tuaran in the lowlands of Sabah in 1997.
