Goniopteroloba
biconcava Prout
Goniopteroloba biconcava Prout,
1958, Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Ent.) 6: 45.
Diagnosis. This species and G. solivaga are both a uniform pale brown colour, but the latter is slightly larger and paler with the darker fasciae much
less strongly emphasised at the forewing costa. Examination of the male
genitalia to confirm identity is recommended (see illustration).
Taxonomic notes. The specimen identified as this by Holloway (1976) has proved to be G.
solivaga Prout .
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species was described from G. Kinabalu, but the
unique male holotype lacks altitude data. Four out of five specimens taken
during the Mulu survey were from the limestone G. Api, at 250m, 900m and 1200m
(2). The fifth was from hill dipterocarp forest at 150m on G. Mulu.
