Diagnosis. This species is paler than hymenaria, lacking
the white bar on the forewing. The hindwing is diagnostically excavate at
the margin between Rs and M1. The female is more extensively whitened
except for a broadly triangular one at the forewing apex.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. This
is a montane species. On Kinabalu it was frequent from 1500m to 1930m, but
during the Mulu survey the three specimens were from lower montane forest
(1000m on G. Mulu, 900m on G. Api). A single specimen was taken at 1618m
on Bukit Retak, Brunei.
