Cleora
decisaria Walker
Boarmia decisaria Walker; 1866, List Specimens lepid. Insects
Colln Br. Mus. 35: 1589.
Diagnosis. C. decisaria is the palest of the Bornean Cleora outside
the Carecomotis group. The whitish ground colour is marked with pale
brown apart from the conspicuous fine dark brown postmedials that are associated
distally with a pale, dull, orange-brown band.
Taxonomic notes. A full synonymy is not given here. Holloway (1979) commented on
relationships within the decisaria group, modifying the conclusions of
Prout (1929b, 1937). The Bornean race is ssp. amphidoxa Prout.
Geographical range. Sundaland to Queensland and Solomons.
Habitat preference. All specimens seen are from lowland localities.
Biology. The species has been reared by Chey Vun Khen and staff at the Forest
Research Centre, Sepilok. The larva was from a plantation in Brumas, Sabah. It
was robust, a uniform leaf green with no processes on A2, at least in early
instars. The host-plant was the plantation tree Paraserianthes falcataria (Leguminosae).
