Diagnosis. See the previous species.
Taxonomic notes. No differences in the male genitalia of material from various Bornean
mountains has been detected, hence the synonymy presented above. For amictozona
the type is indicated as lost by a handwritten note by D.S. Fletcher in the
BMNH collection. It was supposedly destroyed in an air raid on Hamburg during
the war. However, a specimen with the type data has been located in the BMNH
(slide 16208). It is definitely conspecific with praevariegata. The shape
of the spine (an oblique edge rather than a single spine) on the aedeagus
distinguishes the species from similar taxa in the A. variegata Moore
group in other parts of Sundaland.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. This is a common species of the upper montane zone
and has been recorded from as high as 2600m on G. Kinabalu.
