Diagnosis. This and the next two species are distinguished by the breadth of the
anterior pale zone to the forewing which is continued by a small basal area on
the hindwing. See the diagnoses of the following species.
Taxonomic notes. The type locality of British Guiana for paraphiata is erroneous.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. Four males have been taken in recent surveys, in
Sarawak. One was from 100m on G. Santubong, the rest from the G. Mulu National
Park: at 130m in a transition zone between alluvial forest and kerangas; at 200m
on hill dipterocarp forest; at 1000m in lower montane forest on G. Mulu. A
further male has been taken in lowland dipterocarp forest, Barito Ulu, Central
Kalimantan.
