Diagnosis. The ground colour is creamy white, fasciated and irrorated dark brown in
the male, greyer brown in the female. The male hindwings are roughly equal in
area to the forewings, in the female they are smaller. The forewing has the
antemedial and postmedial fasciae thin, clearly defined, with the intervening
medial zone paler than the rest of the wing. On the hindwing the basal zone is
palest, the medial zone more intensely suffused with brown in the male.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. This is a common lowland species, recorded from a
variety of forest types including heath forest. There are a few records from as
high as 1000m in lower montane forest.
