Diagnosis. The ground colour of the forewings is deep brownish red that fades to a
dull brown orange. The mauvish irroration associated with, and distal to the
forewing submarginal and the hindwing medial is diagnostic. The underside lacks
the extensive yellow seen in most other species, being fawn, irrorated brown,
with a conspicuous dark brown area between postmedial and submarginal on the
forewing, with a strong loop in the postmedial anteriorly.
Geographical range. Sundaland.
Habitat preference. The species is infrequent in lowland and lower
montane forest.
