Diagnosis. This is generally similar in facies to the spurca group but lacks
any yellow on the hindwing and has a faintly violet tinge. The forewing fasciae
are obscure, that on the hindwing definite over the tornal two thirds.
Taxonomic notes. The species has an aedeagus vesica similar to that of the spurca group,
but the other genitalic features are less developed: the gnathus is less
spine-like apically, the valve apex is less produced costally, less strongly
setose, and the uncus is less spatulate.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. The species is very rare in lowland dipterocarp
forest; it has recently been taken singly in such habitats at Labi (50m) and Ulu
Temburong (300m) in Brunei.
