Xeropteryx
Butler
Type species: columbicola Walker.
The genus is monotypic, the type species having a tail to the hindwing
as in Thinopteryx but lacking transverse fasciae. The forewing margin is
straight. The facies is a more or less uniform, finely striated grey with a dark
discal spot on the hindwing and sometimes translucent patches in the centre of
the forewing. The male genitalia are distinguished by deep valves with an almost
right-angled ventral margin and a strong costal spur, and by a long, slender
saccus. No female specimens were located for examination.
