Aedia sinuinigra sp. n. (Plate 2, Fig 59)
GG 15-16mm, E 15mm. This is a smaller species than the
previous two. The forewing facies is similar but in black, grey and white with
only a tinge of brown. The paler basal to discal area is more regularly
bordered in a sinuous manner, and the marginal pale zone is narrower than in hirtissima, strongly variegated within, but with a diffuse basal
border. The hindwing basal area is pure white. The male genitalia are similar
to those of intrahens except the valve apex is distinctly expanded exterior
to the coronal setae; the aedeagus has its apical process more strongly hooked,
but the vesica lacks the clusters of spines seen in intrahens.

Camp 2.5, Mulu, 1000m. 413461, lower montane for., BM noctuid slide 17978.
Paratypes: 2GG as holotype; 1G BRUNEI: 1465m, Bukit Retak, 23.10.78 (T.W.
Harman).
Geographical range. Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference. This is a species of lower montane
forest. During the Mulu survey, eleven specimens were taken at the 1000m site,
but only the three above were retained.
