Calymniops dyrzeloides sp. n. (Plate 2, Figs 31, 44)
GG, E, 17mm. The forewings are a slightly more
violet grey than in convergens, and the three fasciae run approximately
parallel and are gently curved, concave basad. Much of the male hindwing is
invested with scent hairs. The female has a dark spot subapically in a similar
position to that in some Dyrzela. In the male abdomen the eighth sternite and tergite are narrower than in convergens,
the three bands of the sternite approximately parallel rather than convergent
distad; the tergite has the distal ‘ring’ part elongated relative to the
anterior ‘stalk’. In the genitalia the saccus is longer than in congeners. The
valves taper over the apical third, and have a ventrally directed spur at the
centre. The aedeagus vesica has a cluster of reversed spines subbasally and
finer zones of spining and scobination at the apex. The female genitalia are
similar to those of convergens except that corpus bursae is much longer
than the appendix bursae, its neck with the distal half straight rather than
coiled.
