Koyaga Ueda
Type species: falca Butler (China, Korea, Japan).
This genus has
facies typical of the Deltote group, and is best defined on features of
the male and female genitalia, though the cilia of the male antennae are longer
than in other members of the group. The valves of the male are elongate,
usually narrowed over an extensive central section, but with dorsally directed
processes from the costa or just interior to it in the distal part of the
narrowed section or, in the type species, in the broader apical section. The
aedeagus vesica usually has a cluster of small but often elongate spines on a patch of sclerotisation. In the female,
the ductus bursae is longer than the corpus bursae, inserted at about one third
from the base of the corpus, which extends posteriorly to give rise to the
ductus seminalis.
The genus
currently consists of five east Asian species as discussed by Ueda (1987) and,
tentatively, the Bornean species described below.
