In proutae,
the bifid distal part of the indigo area of the forewing terminates closer to
the margin, and distinctly paler marks curve parallel to the posterior border of
each bifurcation within the marginal area. On the underside, the hindwings of cossoides
are
somewhat paler than the forewings, and have a more prominent dark discal spot
that is rounder, less lunulate.The genitalia of proutae have
the ductus bursae distinctly broadened over its basal half, distal to a
constriction at the ostium, whereas in cossoides it is extensively narrow basally. The ductus in proutae
is
half as long again as in cossoides.

Habitat
preference. The Bornean specimens are from a coastal locality and from
lower montane forest at 900m on limestone.
