Platyjionia
sp. n.
Externally, the species is very like mediorufa but
has a more triangular medial zone to the forewing, the postmedial being straight
rather than angled. The female genitalia have the ductus bursa slightly longer
but narrower, and both the neck and the bulb of the corpus bursae are similarly
longer. There is a distinctive, scobinate, semicircular lobe immediately
posterior to the ostium. The single Bornean specimen, a damaged female (slide
18302), is from regenerating (10 year) alluvial forest at 50m near Long Melinau
at the edge of the G. Mulu National Park. The species also occurs in Peninsular
Malaysia and Sumatra (HS / K).
