Diagnosis.
This is a medium brownish grey species, the forewing with transverse variegation
of the grey as well as fine but irregular dark lines. Males may have a white dot
in the reniform area whereas females have it larger and black. The most
distinctive feature is a fine white arc, concave distad, opposite the greatest
curvature of the distal margin; the arc is lined with black that grades away to
dark grey basad.
Geographical
range. Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia (Barlow Colln), Borneo, Sulawesi.
Habitat
preference. The seven specimens taken in recent surveys are all from the
lowlands below 200m, most from secondary forest, recently disturbed areas or
areas of cultivation, though one is from primary forest in the Barito Ulu of
Kalimantan Tengah. There is also material from Bidi in the lowlands of Sarawak.
