Pangrapta
aviusalis Walker
Egnasia
aviusalis Walker,
[1859]1858, List
Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. Mus., 16: 221.
Diagnosis.
A small species, aviusalis has rather regular, linear fasciation up to and
including the postmedials. Distal to this fascia, the hindwing is characterised
by a jagged ‘mountain range’ of blackish brown.
Taxonomic
note. The valves of the male genitalia are of the generic type but
the aedeagus has a rather globular vesica with scobination but no large cornuti.
The female has dense setae on the eighth segment. The ductus is as long as the
corpus bursae, broad, scobinate. The unornamented corpus bursae is rather
triangular and set obliquely on the ductus, with the ductus seminalis arising
from the basal acute angle.
Geographical
range. Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra.
Habitat
preference. The species is uncommon in lowland forest and extends up to
1000m.
