Diagnosis.
This is a large species with a distinctive facies. The wings are mostly a rather
rippled vinous brownish grey, but with clearly defined dark greenish brown
blocks basally and apically on the forewing and tornally on the hindwing. The
forewing apical block is the largest and contains a conspicuous, oblique white
mark.
Geographical
range. Singapore,
Andamans, Thailand (VK), Sumatra (HS / ZSM), Borneo, Sulawesi.
Habitat
preference. Of six specimens taken in recent surveys, four are from lowland
forest up to 300m (Labi, the Tutong area and Ulu Temburong in Brunei), one from
lower montane forest at 1000m on G. Mulu and one from 1618m on Bukit Retak,
Brunei.
