Diagnosis. This and the remaining species have a
small androconial patch at the centre of the costal zone on the underside of
the forewing; the costa can appear slightly angled at this point. The forewing
of uloptera
is
distinctive, having a twotone rich brown band medially and a white patch in the
black hieroglyph just distal to this brown band.
Geographical range. Peninsular Malaysia,
Thailand,
Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. This is a montane species, known
from 1050m and 1620m on G. Kinabalu, 1465m and 1618m on Bukit Retak, and
1780-1190m on G. Mulu.
