Diagnosis. The black area on the forewing consists
of a subbasal black band that narrows from the costa to the dorsum. The rest of
the wing is relatively uniform brown with a strong violet tinge.
Geographical range. Sumatra,
Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat preference. This is an uncommon lowland
forest species, not recorded above 350m. All five specimens from the Mulu
survey were taken in alluvial forest.
