Avatha
sumatrana Kobes comb. n.
Pseudathyrma
sumatrana Kobes, 1985: 56.

that of simplex, but the basal band broadens from costa to dorsum
and the rest of the wing is paler, less uniform and less violet. The medial
area is crossed by a diffuse sequence of darker ripples forming a band that
tapers from costa to dorsum. The submarginal is finely etched, dark, densely zig-zagged.
Geographical range. Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. Only three specimens have been
recorded, from dry heath forest dominated by Gymnostoma (Casuarinaceae)
at 15m near Telisai, and from 300m in dipterocarp forest of the Ulu Temburong
in Brunei,
and from lowland forest in the Barito Ulu of Kalimantan Tengah.
