Diagnosis. This species also has most of the black
marking at the base of the forewing, much as in sumatrana, but the distal
part of the wing is a medium violet-grey that grades paler up to the
submarginal. The postmedial forms a strong, oblique black zigzag near the costa.
Taxonomic note. All specimens seen have been
female, including the holotype, though this was listed as male by Kobes (1985).
Geographical range. Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference. The only Bornean specimens seen
are singletons from alluvial forest with limestone outcrops at 70m, taken during
the Mulu survey at Long Pala, from dry heath forest on sand at 10m near Telisai
in Brunei and four recorded
from lowland dipterocarp forest at 170m near the Danum Valley Field Centre in Sabah.
