Diagnosis. The wings are dark brown, the typical generic fasciation more obscure on the forewing than on the hindwing. The latter has extensive bluish white suffusion between the punctate to crenate postmedial and the zig-zag submarginal. The male antennae are unipectinate with a slight node and sinuosity centrally.
Geographical range. Indian Subregion, Sundaland, Moluccas, New Guinea.
Habitat preference. This is a frequent species of lowland forest and (Chey, 1994) softwood plantations, with one record in recent surveys from as high as 1000m.
