Diagnosis. This is a robust species with rather narrow forewings. The pale submarginals are only faintly evident, and there is a blackish discal spot on the forewing. Otherwise the upperside is a uniform medium brown, as is the underside. Males have a distinctive flocculence of raised scales over the basal part of the wing, this effect decreasing beyond the discal spot. There is a longitudinal wedge of similar scales in the centre of the hindwing. The legs lack conspicuously modified scaling or hair-pencils.
Geographical range. Borneo.
Habitat preference. An uncommon lowland species, eriodes has been recorded from primary and secondary forest up to 300m. The holotype is from G. Matang in Sarawak, but lacks altitude data.
