Diagnosis.
This species has a similar forewing postmedial to that of silvialis Walker (see p. 136), indeed more strongly and acutely angled in a zigzag, but is larger than longisaccus sp. n., with the submarginal fasciae much stronger than the rest, which are fine and somewhat faint. Males at least have the posterior half of the forewing margin and the central part of that of the hindwing more strongly curved than the rest. The male antennae are fasciculate as in longisaccus; the labial palps are gently upcurved. The forelegs are tufted with scales concolorous with the rest.

Taxonomic note. The framed corematous structure of the male eighth segment is weak. The valve is tongue-like, with a slight lobe at the saccular apex only. The aedeagus is broad, short, the apex with a short zone of corrugation and sparse scobination. The vesica is large, somewhat trilobed, with fine, sparse scobination on the central lobe.

Geographical range. Sri Lanka, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sulawesi, ?Seram.

Habitat preference. Both recently collected specimens seen are from the lowlands: in disturbed alluvial forest at 70m near G. Mulu; from a Pinus plantation near Brumas in Sabah (Chey, 1994).
