Naarda melinau sp. n.

Naarda melinau
Figure 357

8-9mm. This is a much larger species than ineffectalis (6-7mm) with relatively narrower forewings that have a discal mark consisting of a transverse pair of black dots narrowly surrounded by a rather deep, ochreous yellow. Only the postmedials are conspicuously darker on all wings, but there is a fainter, transverse antemedial on the forewing. All wings have a faintly paler submarginal half way between the postmedial and the distal margin. The male antennae are fasciculate, and the labial palps have the second segment scaling rendering it ovate in lateral view, with the third segment short, thick, barely visible. The male genitalia have a slender uncus with a slight apical hook. The valves are broad over the basal two-thirds, thence narrowing to a bifid apical portion, the two arms appressed. The aedeagus vesica has a large cornutus with a slight basal flange.
