12-14mm. The forewing facies is distinctive, rufous grey over the basal two-thirds up to the straight, transverse, double postmedial, and darker grey distal to this. The basal fascia of the postmedial is white, the distal one more ochreous. There is a dark, zigzag antemedial, a pale orbicular dot and a pale discal chevron within the basal zone. The costal zone of the marginal area contains an irregular, pale grey patch. The hindwings are brown, paler and more ochreous over the basal two-thirds within which occurs a fine, straight dark fascia that is approximately central to the wing. The hindwing fasciation is similar in position to that of Hepatica Staudinger species (see Holloway, 2005) and Acidon such as sabada (see above); these also have a pale orbicular spot. The male antennae are serrate as in rufobrunnea. The male genitalia have the valve tongue-like, widening distally, with a central pleat extending to two-thirds. There is a small tongue-like process subbasally in the saccular zone as in mediobrunnea and sabada. The thickening of the eighth tergite is X-shaped.
