, 10-12mm. The forewing facies is similar to that of laesalis, but more variegated, the postmedial being more or less straight and defined by a more conspicuous white line, with a paler band distal to that. The medial zone is very dark brown except for a band along to the costa that extends into a basal area defined by the oblique posterior part of the antemedial. The apical lens is also paler against a black surround. The male antennae are narrowly ciliate as in indicatalis. The male genitalia have the uncus most strongly curved apically of the four species, and the valves are the broadest with a rounded apex. The aedeagus vesica has a band of small spines that is broadest ventrally and more extensive than in the other species. The female has the ductus shorter, with a distinct neck to the slightly asymmetric, pyriform corpus bursae; in the centre of the bulb of the corpus bursae is an irregular row of about six tongue-like spines, again a feature shared with indicatalis.
