Diagnosis. The three satiny white patches are separated by narrow brown and
gold zones, the central area much enlarged, almost rectangular, with its distal
margin strongly curved, compressing a smaller subapical patch right into the
apex.
Geographical range. Borneo, N.E. Himalaya, Taiwan, Burma, Thailand,
Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Palawan (ZMUC).
Habitat preference.
The type specimen was collected by A.R. Wallace in
Sarawak, probably in the lowlands. A second specimen was taken in recent surveys
at 1618m on Bukit Retak in Brunei.
