Cossedia
sp.
A
single female matching the female referred by Kobes (1997) to his concept of
erateinalis has been taken at 1670m on Bukit Pagon in Brunei; the material
noted by Kobes was from lowland localities. It has a yellower centre to the
hindwing than that of the next species, and the margin is less angular; there is
no subtornal yellow patch on the forewing. A male that might be referable to it
is also illustrated, matching the female in forewing pattern. It is not exactly
the same as the ‘erateinalis’ male illustrated by Kobes (1997) in that,
though it has a similarly falcate apex to the hindwing angle, this is more
extensively yellow. The genitalia have conspicuous lateral patches of spines on
the anellus; the aedeagus has a shorter cornutus than in hyriodes
Hampson, and a vesica generally more as proesei Kobes and allies.
