Calymera translucens Holloway comb. n.
Carea translucens Holloway,
1976: 24.
Calymera lasina Kobes, 1997: 112, syn. n.
Diagnosis. The forewings are a rich rusty colour
with numerous, rather faint blackish wavy fasciae. The hindwings are slightly
translucent, a very pale salmon pink.
Taxonomic note. The genitalia of lasina Kobes are very similar,
sharing in particular the distinctive basal spur on the costa of the valve and
the scattering of short but robust spines at the base of the aedeagus vesica. In
the holotype of lasina the valves are relatively short but appear to be
deformed.
Geographical range. Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference. The holotype was from 1200m on G. Kinabalu. During the
Mulu survey, three specimens were taken at 1000m and one at 1790m on G. Mulu,
and one in alluvial forest at the foot of the mountain (70m). A specimen was
also taken at 60m in lowland forest in Brunei.
