Manoba
sp. 17763
A single
female (slide 17763) with facies reminiscent of
major
was taken in alluvial forest at 100m near the western end of the Melinau Gorge
during the Mulu survey. This female shares with major the rather dark
grey wings, the hindwing often darker than the forewing, and the latter with a
conspicuous dark grey patch at the centre of the costa (much larger than in
major). However, in the genitalia, the ductus of major is very long,
slender, sinuous and fluted rather than short and simply sclerotised.
