The species is larger than concolor, a lighter, brighter rufous
brown. The subbasal pale patch of the forewing is prominent, yellowish;
the white discal spot, when present, is narrow rather than rounded; the
fasciae are less wavy than in concolor, and the grey zone between
the second and third is usually broad and conspicuous. The genitalia show
no significant differences.
Females are not known.

Geographical
range. Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo.
Habitat
preference. The species has been taken infrequently in lowland forests
and also recorded from lower and upper montane forest.
